I don't know how they do it in the UK, but has-been stars in the US often regain their fame by appearing in a reality show for has-been stars. This often involves one of the following three things:

(1) moving into a house with other has-been stars and having your life taped,

(2) having cameras follow you around as you try to find a spouse, or

(3) competing against other has-been stars by performing extreme or disgusting stunts.

If you can't do this, get caught doing something scandalous or auction off something scandalous on eBay. This will get you the news coverage you want!
